Chirk Castle - July 2004

A 'fun' weekend at Chirk Castle on the Welsh Border. Our friends Caroline and Kenny were kind enough to put up a number of the players for the weekend when we went to see the Chapterhouse Theatre Company's open air production of As You Like it (by Wm. Shakespeare) in the Castle Gardens.

The first arrivals are greeted by Kenny and Caroline

Where we're staying - Wow!

The Stage is set

Do you think we've got enough food?

Quite an audience now

Kenny snatches a quick bite to eat.

Wrestling Scene from As you Like it!

Shades of Robin Hood? - but I'm not sure if I'd trust that sheep, it has a mean look on it's face.

The End, after which the actors joined us in the castle, finishing off the food before they left for the next show in Stafford.

Gathered on the lawn next morning for a walk in the gardens.

Pose naturally please !

Some kind of protest to do with sheep, I think. Another view of the Castle

This weekend was a typical Duston Players outing, with lots of laughs, and food, and booze.
