Duston Players - Social and other events 2001

In addition to performing 3 act plays and pantomimes,  the Duston Players like to socialize and take part in other local events.

Some of these events have been listed below and more details or pictures could follow at a later date.

• December 2001 - News Year's Eve Party (Fancy Dress)

• December 2001 - Christmas Dinner at Weedon
  
  The players had their own Christmas dinner in December at the Globe in Weedon. It was a good night with a really good meal followed by dancing late into the night. One or two members of the players had slight hangovers the following day.

• September 2001 - Court's Furnishing.
  
  A number of the players have been seen posing in front of video cameras in Court's Furniture store. It appears they were recruited to take part in training videos for Court's sales staff.
  
  
• September 2001 - A Weekend in Bath.

  A number of the players went for a weekend away in Bath, and a good time was had by all.  Here we are on the open top tour.

  
  

• July 2001 - The Pub Walk.
  
  A group of around 16 of the players went for a Pub Walk. I should explain that is not the same as a pub crawl. First you go for a 3 mile walk in the Northamptonshire countryside, and then you go in the Pub for refreshments. We started and finished at the Kings Arms in Farthingstone, and a good time was had by all.
  
  
• May 2001 - Lets have a Picnic. A number of the players and friends went out for a picnic at Pitsford Reservoir. We ate food, played games (Rounders and Football) and then ate more food and fell asleep in the sun. When we'd had enough sun we all went back to a member's house for a barbecue to finish the day off. Most relaxing and great fun!
  
  
• February 2001 -A member of the players held a Carribean evening, turning up the central heating and using palm trees from the last panto to help make the house look tropical. Everyone turned up suitably clad for the carribean and a good time was had by all.
  I think we're off  Ice Skating in Milton Keynes next, I just hope the cast of the next play are careful.
  
  
• January 2001 - A quiet month by players standards, apart from another housewarming party, a small 'Burns night' gathering and a 'Mongolian feast' to celebrate a member's birthday.
